I am on Windows 11 Pro with an 11th Gen Core i7 processor, 32GB of RAM, and a 1TB solid state hard drive (more than 50% free). Running "Analyze" takes only a few seconds, as expected. However, when I click "Run Cleaner" to perform the deletions, it will take hours. Because my computer goes to sleep, it never finishes.
It does not get hung up on anything particular and keeps moving, it just deletes every item in the list very slowly (1-3 seconds per file/folder). Because certain things tend to have more items to delete, those take the longest - Edge Chromium Internet Cache, Internet Explorer Temporary Internet Files, Google Chrome Internet Cache, Clipchamp Video Editor, System Memory Dumps, System Temporary Files, etc.
I have:
- run the Windows Disk Cleanup tool
- defragmented
- manually cleared each browsers' history/temp files "for all time"
- verified the "secure deletion" option is on "normal file deletion"
- unchecked the "wipe free space drives" for C:.
Still excruciatingly slow and unusable. All I can do is uncheck all the items that have more space to free so it can get to the rest, which is somewhat useless to do.
