I sent the following email to the CCleaner Team today
CCleaner team-
I have uninstalled CCleaner 7 due to your stupid change to eliminate the custom cookie management feature.
This is the primary reason I purchased your product. I also purchased the premium version.
You destroyed the cookie cleaning function I paid for when your released version 7 in October. This was within my 30 day satisfaction guarantee period.
I was not aware of that change, but you did not notify me of the downgrade in the functionality that I paid for.
Please refund my purchase price immediately, and cancel any future renewals, unless you GUARANTEE that you will be restoring that function.
**Please reply to this email within 48 hours to confirm either that you will be fixing this issue or confirm that you refunding my purchase price of $70.31
**
It is important that you reply to this email with either a confirmation of fixing this issue, or confirmation of my refund.
If I do not receive your reply, I will be filing a complaint for consumer fraud with the Attorney General of the state of Texas.
Regardless of the outcome, you will be required to respond to that complaint.
Once you submit the form you will be given a support ticket/ID number onscreen, with a summary of your request.
Below that is the button to go straight into the ‘Live Chat’ where a virtual assistant will try to help you. If the AI can’t help then you will be passed to a real person.
CCleaner gave a canned response that they don’t do any email support, go to chat.
After about a 45 minute wait, I got an agent. She confirmed that the fix for the cookie management function will be restored in the coming days. That is good news. I told her that removing that was the biggest bonehead move since New Coke. That got a laugh from her. They will be sending an email to users to confirm when to update.
Hi @jsmit86,
Could you provide more details about the custom cookie management feature that seems to be missing in CCleaner 7?
In CCleaner 6, the Cookies to Keep, Include, and Exclude menus were located under Options. In CCleaner 7, these menus can now be accessed via the Configure option in the top-right corner of the Custom Clean section.
I am back to version 6 for now. If I understand your post, you are showing the function where you can manually add cookies to keep, one at a time by tying them in, or perhaps by importing bookmarks. This is not the solve.
My understanding from the chat reply, is that version 7 would be updated showing the window on the left side with all cookies on the computer, and the ability to move them to the right window to keep them.
I will not re-install version 7 until you bring that function back.
Thanks for this feedback @jsmit86 I have passed this to the product team to review.
At the moment, there is no time frame on when this will be added to CCleaner 7. If you’d like to see this feature added to CCleaner 7 in the future, please submit your suggestion via the Ideas Portal, located in the left-hand menu of the application. This helps us gauge interest and prioritize enhancements based on user feedback.
I am not able to find any live chats with the email address associated with your forum account, where you were told this would be added soon.
I have sent you a DM for more details on your support request.
