If it was XP, I would suggest unchecking "User Assist History", but I have no idea if it's the same in Windows 7. Try it and see.
For what it's worth, I have the entire start menu populated with 24 pinned shortcuts, and to ensure they're not removed however CCleaner is set up, I right click the Start Menu, select "Properties\Customize" and I set the "Number of items on Start Menu" to 0.

thanks for the generous replay .. i looked for "User Assist History" and it is already unchecked ... as for the next suggestion its done and i like it
but the problem is with my pinned items on the "task bar" in windows 7 it goes after cleaning with ccleaner ... THANX
