Hi, this started happening yesterday. If I load up CCleaner and click on the "Check for updates" link at the bottom right , my browser (Chrome- latest version 21.0.1180.60) doesn't load the page. Chrome starts up but it just sits there trying to connect to the page.It does the same thing if I click on the "Help" link at the bottom left or the 'Pear' at the top right. I'm using Windows 7 64bit service pack 1. Latest version of CCleaner is installed. Chrome was updated from version 20 to 21 yesterday, could it be something to do with that?
Found a fix, Disabling the phishing and malware protection in Google Chrome .(I re-enabled it because I'd rather have the protection) Strange thing is the problem only occurs in ccleaner, all other software on my pc that have update checks, help, or company info links in the gui , all open up fine in google chrome. For some reason Chromes built in protection doesn't like ccleaner links.For now I'll just check for updates manually.
Thanks for posting your findings about that. The devs read all threads so maybe they'll have some notion as to why it affects Chrome like that, and hopefully find a fix.
