CCleaner Changes MS Word Settings?

When I run CCleaner, it changes two MS Word settings, unchecking the following two items:

1. Tools | Options | Format marks | All

2. Tools | Options | Print and Web Layout options | Text Boundaries

Not sure if other items are being changes, but these are the most obvious.

Any way I can prevent this?

It doesn't change them it outright deletes them, however there's nothing the CCleaner developer can do about that since Microsoft stores the Word settings and a few other Office applications settings in with where the MRU items, etc., are.

To keep your Microsoft Office and Word settings intact you must untick Microsoft Office in CCleaner, here's how:

1. Start CCleaner.

2. Click Cleaner, Applications

3. Look under the Applications list, and untick Microsoft Office.

4. Reconfigure Microsoft Office to your likings.

Tip: If you're using Microsoft Office 2003 (not sure if earlier versions had this feature) you can save your settings by going into:

1. Start, All Programs, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Office Tools then run Microsoft Office 2003 Save My Settings Wizard.

2. Save the setting in the My Documents folder, save as example:

Microsoft Office Settings.ops

You can then at a later time, or even after an operating system reinstall import those settings using the Save My Settings Wizard.

Note:

The only Office cleaning routines that don't touch the settings are located in winapp2.ini which is an optional download.
