CCleaner blocked just after close of iexplore.exe

Sometimes CCleaner is blocked for tens of seconds if started just after Internet Explorer(iexplore.exe) close.

I suspect that CCleaner is trying to acquire some system resource (semaphore) before allowing cleaning of drive.

But sometimes just after iexplore.exe close some system services get active which block CCleaner for several seconds and cleaning is not possible - this can last over 30 secs which is annoying.

I don't think this is an error just the system is blocking other programs like CCleaner to run.

It would be interesting to know (if not proprietary secret) what exactly happens before CCleaner "Run Cleaner" button is enabled - e.g acquire of system resources, semaphores e.t.c.

Am I correct in assuming that you are a software developer with a website?

I think it is unlikly that Piriform will disclose the info you are asking about :)

hazelnut, you are correct in your assumptions.

I don't want the secrets of Piriform.

Some programmer could eventually answer which event/resource could be relevant.

The OS in question is Windows 7 used by millions and CCleaner is also used by millions !

It could be that some installed third party program or service is interfering ?

No problem to supply list of installed software or supply diagnostic output.

I am using only well-known software, nothing special.
