CCleaner and Firefox 7

I have used CC for years to clean up all temp files etc on shutdown at night - including FF cache & history. Since recently updating to FF 7 and 7.1 , on analyzing Cc reports that FF is still running and consequently does not clear cache & history. FF is NOT running and Task Manager shows no related processes (including plugin-container).

Several posts on the FF forum has not produced an answer. Can anyone here suggest a solution?

This has occurred with CC 11 and now with 12.

There are also recent topics that show Mozilla now cause their products to interact,

and apparently Thunderbird and who knows what else may also need to be closed and processes terminated before Firefox can be cleaned.

Also look into any Firefox addons/plugins that may not let it exit when you close it.
