CCleaner and Chrome question

I noticed that when I clear the history/cookies/peronal data from the Google Chrome browser, it does not clear all the data within the history file (It might clear some, I'm not entirely sure, but there is definitely some remaining)

Obviously I could use CCleaner to clear it, but I'm wondering why the browser can't do it now, since it works fine on other accounts. Is this a side effect of CCleaner?

I noticed that the other day, I couldn't figure out why when making 7-Zip backups of SRWare Iron Portable (a Chrome/Chromium clone) why it had grown so much until I used the tool built into the browser to clean everything.

Maybe something to do with CCleaner 5.26.5937, because I didn't notice anything using the previous version 5.25.5902.
