CCleaner 7 Design Changes Ruin 20 Years of Usability - Stopped Using

As a long-time professional managing hundreds of PCs weekly, I need to express how version 7 has broken workflows that made CCleaner indispensable:

  • Keyboard/Workflow Destroyed: No more arrow keys + spacebar + select/deselect all. 15-second tasks now take 3 minutes per PC—a 1200% productivity hit.

  • Cache Buried & Renamed: “Cache” moved halfway down browser sections and renamed “Internet Cache”—redundant, unnecessary, and kills muscle memory.

  • Inconsistent GUI Elements: Settings appear in both lower-left and upper-right corners. Confusing.

  • Summary Screen Regression: Data amount on left, item count on right; no concise list or totals at the bottom. Visuals look like slides, not a professional report.

  • Overall GUI Downgrade: Overly simplified menus and sliding panels are flashy but slow down anyone who actually uses the tool efficiently.

Impact: These regressions make the tool impractical for professional use.

Please consider the needs of power users in future updates. Looks like I’m jumping ship to {competition software removed} and taking hundreds of customers with me. It was a fun ride while it lasted, CCleaner.
