1. Under applications tab google chrome is still listed even though I deleted it some time ago. I thought once you delete something it should disappear.
2. Same thing with avast. I now have version 8 but version 6 still shows up under utilities.

Open programs and features, try uninstalling it from there. Sometimes Windows will recognize it is no longer there on the second try and ask if you want it removed from the list.
Edit:
BTW, CCleaner is not the end all solver of Windows and Programs various uninstall problems. It's the program's uninstallers' fault.
Gotta lay the blame where it's deserved.
I do mean for this to be friendly
Edit 2: Try deleting the left-over program folder for those program's then running the Windows uninstaller again. Those program's are hooked into so many areas.
Most common places to look for leftovers that CCleaner is detecting:
* Registry
* Application Data folder
* Program Files folder
If Avast didn't uninstall correctly use the Avast Uninstall Utility.
Also your title states CCleaner "4.00", there's a newer version available here.
Edit:
Scratch the Avast Uninstall Utility I see you have v8.0 installed, the reason it's detecting the old version is a known issue, possibly something that needs updating in CCleaner.
