CCleaner "unused file extensions" detection isn't working correctly it's still generating loads of false positives.

Know how you feel but it's been ignored for 7 versions now so not holding out much hope it'll be fixed. Just means keeping v3.03 for when I do a reg clean, a nuisance but better than the alternative of programs breaking every time you run it.
Can you please PM me or post more details/information about the problem you are having with "unused file extensions"?
No disrespect or anything, however it's all over in the CCleaner forum area with posts about the file extensions cleaning in the registry causing issues and detecting valid file extensions and removing them which it really shouldn't be doing, and also people complaining about removing an extension it detects for it to only reappear the next time they run the registry cleaner.
That's why so many of us won't update past v3.03.1366 anymore. I do hope something can be done about the false positives, however since it's been so many versions we've complained about and have been ignored when posting our concerns I myself have all but given up hope.

Big thanks for the new version. What I loved the most in the new version is that u can delete all temp files in firefox but spare the sessions, absolutely nice new future.

But what I would love is: I forgotten the name, but there is also an at least from what I remember another good shredding method that is or at least was available(forgot its name since it was years when I had a shredder with this function), a 14x shredding method, similiar to NSA it rewrittes in various ways. If this would be possible it would be great. If not I will simply stick to NSA?s 7x. So or so a great overall tool.

Discussed many times over. In short, any more than one overwrite is a waste of time (except for adding unnecessary wear to your drive). Only reason CCleaner includes other methods is, IMO, to keep the non believers happy and to save the endless stream of "Please add million overwrite method" posts

I see so more than one overwrite with NSA is really not. Then really running a MFT+free space run once a few months is more than enough already. Thanks then this is a done topic for me. Btw. thinking about it: The main problem may be thanks to what you mainly get from googling and searching... You get specially on rewritting methods tons of different informations etc. etc. You are like never really provided with the information you need. Well guess thats thanks to companys that want to sell shredders to earn cash. Nonelass thanks, again learned something usefull.
