CCleaner 3.00.1303 Installation issue

OK Dennis, let me rephrase the post ;)

Hi,

Today I downloaded the latest CCleaner 3.00.1303 Ver. and installed it on top of the previous version and apparently everything went fine and the program actually opens and runs fine,BUT later on, I opened Revo Uninstaller to uninstall another program and by curiosity I looked for CCleaner and noticed that it was not on REVO?s list so it is not detecting CCleaner as installed, so I went to Windows own add/remove programs control panel and there it was!!! so I proceeded to UN-Install CCleaner from there and to re-install it from scratch (with admin privileges of course), but again REVO did not detect that CCleaner is installed.

Anyone?

BTW I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bits and I have been using CCleaner for quite a long time without any problems untill now.

Thanks

I can't really see the point of the highlighted remark.

It's completely out of context, has people wondering what's that all about, and therefore requires me to give an explanation.

The OP's original topic and problem appeared to be directly related to an unofficial product which I believe interfaces with CCleaner. Apparently it doesn't interface very well with CCleaner 3.0, and the OP was asking if we could throw any light on why, and whether that could be the cause of the issue.

As it's an unofficial product, and therefore doesn't merit any support or "air time" on here, I politely pm'd the OP and apologised for the fact that I'd had to delete his post, and why.

As to whether that program has now been completely removed from the OP's computer, is impossible to say, which means it could still be part of the problem.

If anyone wants to venture a suggestion, feel free.

Sorry for the inconvenience I have caused you Dennis! I promise I won?t do it again!

I thought REVO UN-Installer was a widely used program, but I guess I am wrong :(

...anyway, for what it is worth and for those of you (if any) that uses REVO Un-installer free edition, the reason it is NOT detecting CCleanerx64 or any 64 bits programs for that matter, is that this detection is only available on the Pro or paid version of REVO, so it is NOT a problem with CCleaner.

Thanks

No worries. You haven't caused me any inconvenience, but posting something out of context like that just looked odd, and therefore required clarification.

Revo Uninstaller free is used by quite a few members, including myself, but unfortunately your first topic was initially about why CCleaner 3 wasn't working with an unofficial, and therefore unsupported third party program when previous versions of CCleaner did, followed by the issue with Revo.

All that being said I appreciate, as I'm sure others will, your posting back with your findings about Revo free and 64bit applications, as that will no doubt be of use to others.

I use Revo uninstaller and CCleaner 3.00.1303 is on my Revo list. I did the same as you (which i do all the time) did installed the new version right over the old and had no problems besides not having Microsoft Silverlight not show up in the CC apps list.

Windows 7 32/64 and Vista 32/64.

I think what dennis is implying is that this is not directly a CCleaner issue.

CCleaner has installed. M$ Uninstaller lists it. There fore this is a revo issue.

CCleaner is listed in my revo.
