Installed CCv3.12 and set it running but it spends hours deleting Internet Explorer temp files. I don't use IE so where are the temp files coming from? Last time I looked it had deleted overe 2,000 files of 0kb. If I untick IE in the applications list the programme runs normally. Any idea what is happening?
Even though you say you don't use IE as a browser, it gets used by your operating system.
Have you tried deleting the temp internet files from Internet Options in your Control Panel, rebooting and then trying ccleaner again?
Any chance you could post a screenie of the cc window with some of the files listed,? (you will need to select 'more reply options' when making your post to be able to upload the screenie)
It always helps if you state your operating system when making a post
Well, I've never noticed that before, but I too have a few hundred zero byte files in an IE Temp Int Files folder. After a few minutes looking at it, it appears that they are created by OE (I'm on OE6). You can test this by clearing out Temp Int Files (use IE if CC is taking too long), then opening OE and looking at an email or two, then running CC Analyse again. You should see a clutch of zero byte files.
It appears that OE has done this for some time - I found a report on this dated 2002. I wonder why it hasn't been raised here before?
