I recently downloaded the latest version of CC Cleaner. Now Windows 10 is telling me "Windows cannnot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

Do you mean that message appears when you try to run CCleaner, or do you mean it appears when you try to open anything?

Only when I try to open CC Cleaner.

Check your security software. It may be a false positive blocking CCleaner.

You are trying to run CCleaner from the icon/shortcut on your desktop 

Navigate to the installed directory,


double click on CCleaner.exe  (CCleaner64.exe if x64 OS)




If UAC shows up click on YES.


If  this works then your icon/shortcut on your desktop is corrupted.
