Can't us Ccleaner, says requires Microsoft WebView2Runtime

(Error: 0x80070002) To fix this issue, install or repair the WebView2 Runtime from the link below. (has link) then says to restart Ccleaner. When I click on that link it pops up a box that asks me to ‘save’ it and I do and then it pops up a box saying it already exists, do you want to replace it? I clicked on ‘yes’. It downloads the installer, and then when I open that it starts installing and immediately pops up a box that says 'can’t install on this device because it doesn’t meet the minimum hardware requirements for Microsoft Edge Webview2 Runtime. …

So. 1. Do I have the right version of Ccleaner- --I wondered if what I installed is not compatible with my computer but when I went back to that website, it seems to automatically ‘know’ what it is and it doesn’t let me choose anything (other than of course the paid/subscription version vs free). So if that isn’t the issue,

2. I did UNinstall Microsoft Edge browser, but my understanding is that the WebView 2 Runtime is separate from that and uninstalling Edge browser will not affect WV2, (per google search, this is what I came up with). So that, if true, seems not to be the issue.

3. IF it ‘already exists’, I did not recklessly uninstall it by accident (?) It does say it already exists, so that means I didn’t delete it? I have UNinstalled some things I did not want, such as sticky note pad feature, some gaming things I will never use, and the Edge Browser, some weather and sports thingy… I did look up everything and read what it was/did before I uninstalled any of them.

4.If it already exists like it says, then how can it also say this computer doesn’t have the minimum hardware requirements?

I should add that I am doing all of this on an ASUS computer I just bought 2 days ago, and I can’t imagine it not having the ‘minimum hardware requirements’. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Can you edit your post to have line breaks (enter key at the end of typing a paragraph) this will greatly aid in understanding the issue.

as far as i can tell, you’re missing WebView due to the uninstalling of Edge (unsure why this would be something instead of just ignoring Edge but hey). CCleaner 7 is a webview app and needs webview2.

Everything I found on a cursory look said removing edge removes webview2

Try to install it from Microsoft Edge WebView2 | Microsoft Edge Developer

I reconfigured my post, to make it easier to read, hope that helps. Here are ttwo screenshots of what I googled about this.

I don’t appear to be missing WebView, it says it is installed already when I try to install it. Ccleaner says it is not installed when I try to use the cleaner.

I clicked on that link you posted in your reply, and it took me to this page, but I don’t know which one to choose?

I chose the middle one and 64bit, unless you’re on 32bit (unlikely unless you have an very old pc) or ARM (snapdragon pc).

well! That seems to have worked! Cross my fingers it solves all problems! Thank you so much for helping me!
