Anybody know how to get itunes to open? Ive uninstalled and reinstalled using Revo uninstaller and it still will not open. It doesn't show up in the task manager when i try to open it either, it just gives me a half second of an hour glass and stops. It also does a "windows is configuring itunes" and then leaves two files in my recycling bin the first time i try to open itunes after a start up.
Any help here?

Thanks that second one might do the trick.
The second one didn't work, anybody have any other ideas?
Are you installing the correct version for your Windows? (32-bit/64-bit)
Use this guide to completely uninstall iTunes: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1925
Over here to get the latest version of iTunes: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Should work. :\
1. Make sure you're logged in as Adminstrator and/or have full permissions.
2. Your AV might be preventing iTunes from writing a registry value.
3. Try opening iTunes from the installation directory.
- From a website. (http://www.paulyuen.com/?p=125)THE SOLUTION:
1.) go to start menu ?> run
2.) type ?regedit?
3.) press enter
4.) go to computer/hkey_classes_root/
5.) find pcast and right click it
6.) click permissions
7.) during the course of this you may get a message saying you cant change anything, but you can change who can change things. click ok on it.
8.) click advanced, then owner tab
9.) change the owner from administrator to whatever name you are using
10.) click ok twice to get out of the pop-ups completely
11.) right click pcast again
12.) click permissions
13.) click OWNER RIGHTS
14.) by full control and read click the allow boxes.
15.) click ok
That's what I posted in the second link ishan that the poster has already tried and says doesn't work

Yeah im using the administrator account and installing the correct version as far as i know.
When i tried it before i uninstalled itunes using Revo uninstaller which deletes most traces and registry left overs, i even went through and did a search for anything itunes and deleted it. I then reinstalled and it still wouldn't work.
I will give that other one a try again.

On step 13 i don't see anything that says owner rights but every user has all the allow boxes checked except for creator owner and whenever i check them to allow and hit apply it acts like its not working because the check marks disappear.

Well, I haven't really encountered this so I can't help much. Did you try re installing by downloading the latest CORRECT version for your Windows?
