Cannot retrive photos with recuva

Hi all,

I've been trying to use this program when I decided to move all of my pictures and music to an external disk. Unfortunately the external disk has completely gone and I'm trying to get the pictures back off the laptop drive they were originally on. Im not worried about the music as its all on my ipod.

I have enabled a deep scan on the D: partition (this is where all my pics and music was). And have found that it could recover ALL of my itunes music, but no photos. So I selected to only scan for photos but it cannot find anything.

I cannot understand why because nothing if anything has been written onto the D: since and its seperate to the OS and progs etc.

Any ideas??

I assume that you deleted the pictures from your laptop hd? How did you do that, via the recycler, with CC, or shift/del? Are they in the recycler?

I cut and pasted them onto my external drive.

Hmmm, just tested this with one file cut/pasted to a flash drive, and the 'old' file is clearly found by Recuva under its correct name. Try a normal scan on all drives of your laptop (no science, just clutching at straws).
