Cannot open programs/internet/registry backup

Hello All.

I downloaded and ran ccleaner. I backed up the registry in my documents. I now cannot access anything. I tried system restore...nope, won't restore anything. Can't access the internet, nor the registry I backed up. When I open Outlook Express (must right click and choose open) to open all program and open the emails the messages are attachments. I've tried to get on the internet to go back for windows updates and it won't load and I can't access anything. I have gotten an error message resource loader Loadimage method Skin image "menuseparator.png" found but cannot be loaded.

This was a computer that was just running so slow that I needed to clean it up to see if I could everything working better. Well, this didn't work out the way I planned. This is an office and this is one of 3 computers we use.

So, anyone have any advice?

Sounds like you removed the registry entry for EXEFILES or something.

'I downloaded and ran ccleaner ...... This is an office' - As it appears you are running CC in a business environment you should contact Piriform Support. If you don't have a support licence then Piriform will advise you of your options.

Cindi,

I've never experience any problem with CC especially in registery cleaning.

I've tried a lot of pros, but believe me CC is the most safest way to clean the registry.

So, I guess your system is affected by a Malware or Trojan.

I suggest you contact Piriform support "if you have a Pirifrom license" ...

OR you should do a deep scan with any good anti malware that you know.

Hi, cindi513.

Those statements make me think of malware, same as iSR5, but I'm no expert, it might not be.

This link will lead you to free expert help to check for malware. http://forum.pirifor...showtopic=34786

Post back what you find out if you have time.

Notwithstanding all the above, business users should be using a business edition of CC, and obtaining support from Piriform via their support licence. The OP hasn't clarified his or her position, so I'm closing this thread.
