Following a clean by CCleaner I was told I had 2 x unknown programmes (or similar words) CCleaner asked with suitable warnings if I wanted to delete them.
I stupidly deleted both and I have now realised one of them was my CCTV DVR programme "X55"
Is there a simple way of reinstalling the program; btw it was very difficult to install the first time and I am trying not to repeat it.
My bin is empty I had hoped to find X55 there.
That does not sound like something that CCleaner would ask you.
I've certainly never known it ask anything like that.
Can you remember which parts of CCleaner you had run?
It's more the kind of thing that an antivirus/antimalware programme would ask.
Were you running an anti virus scan after using CCleaner?
If so what was it?
If you are lucky then your AV, or whatever was asking, may have 'quarantined' them rather than deleting them.
Hi nukecad
No I cannot remember; I do know it was a full cc session since I had recently ?? paid for the full version..My memory is vague but I am sure in following different cc links I came across the message such as " 2 unidentified programs" with the option to delete them...MAYBE I had to much beer close the the harbour that John Paul Jones of (later) America tried to occupy some many years back
Supping in Whitehaven? Must be, and I'm sure you know the local version of what happened. (Not the 'official' American version which has a bunch of Yankee sailors apparently unable to set fire to coal barges because it was raining. LOL dumb yankees ain't that dumb but after months at sea most sailors like to go on the p**s ashore and get incapable).
It sounds like you ran the full gamut of tools now available in CCleaner. Which TBH is not a good idea. A bit at a time, (and some I wouldn't touch at all).
I've still never seen a message like that from CCleaner, but I would look at if you have put those apps to sleep in Performance Optimiser?
yes..drunk sailors rather than fighting sailors.
I live in our Farm house at Cleator NOT the recent 18oos Cleator Moor.
Always a welcome to nice people as I frequently say to delivery people "tea, coffee, toilet or talk !!
