Hi
The installation seizes up after the intitial two screens are completed with the blue bar getting stuck half way across. I have tried two versions of C Cleaner and both the same.
Windows XP Service Pack 3, McAfee antivirus. HP Pavilion 2.1GHZ processor 512mb Ram.
Any ideas please?

Are you saving it to your desktop first and then installing it, or are you running it from the website?

Thanks for your reply. I am saving it to desktop then running, I downloaded the program from a link to Piriform from www.cnet.com I tried both an older version and the latest one

What browser are you using? Empty the cache or try a different browser (if you have one)

More and more programs, today, are using installers that connect to some server over the web and download shovelware and toolbars. If the installer cannot connect to the server, it doesn't proceed with the installation. Maybe McAfee or some other security program is blocking this?
Just use the slim version.

Try to always get software downloads from the official product websites! As it pertains to CNET's download.com there's discussion enough on here for the reason why it's not wise to download from them.
