Bugs in CC

Topic: Odd "Clean Recycle bin" behaviour.

Yesterday I moved some 6 GB of data/files to the recycle bin of my USB harddrive. Today I used CC to clean the recycle bin. The odd thing is that CC didn't detect that 6 GB of files on my USB drive when it analyzed my system today (of course, with the USB drive attached).

But when I put CC to work to actually clean the Recycle Bin then CC also detected that there was a Recycle Bin on my USB drive. and yes then CC took some time to empty that Recycle Bin on my USB drive. Is this behaviour (not detecting the recycle bin on my USB drive when analyzing) normal ?

Does it matter that I have a USB 3.0 harddrive ? The drive is supposed to be USB 2.0 compatible.

Topic: "Clean Recycle Bin" behaviour.

Odd. I ran CC v4.18 again but this behaviour (see previous post) didn't show up any more. Did I overlook something ? Don't know. But it doesn't matter anymore.

Because I downloaded & installed CC v4.19 and it correctly showed/recognized the files & the size of the files in the Recycle Bin. It also recognized that those files were on the USB harddrive. And the files were deleted by CC.

Bug in CC v5.00 Beta. Topic: Task Bar & the place of the CC GUI.

When I want to maximize CC, the program makes a mistake. It recognizes the fact that I have the Task bar placed on the left hand side of the screen on my (freshly installed earlier this evening) Win 7 Pro system (Some programs don't recognize the task bar being on the left hand side of the screen at all or not always. Thumbs up for CC). But it miscalculates where it should place the GUI.

Let's assume the task bar has a width of 4 cm then CC assumes the task bar has a width of double that amount and places the left hand edge of the CC GUI 8 cm from the left hand edge of the (visible) screen. And then the entire CC GUI shifts to the right by the same amount. The result is that not the entire CC GUI is visible on my screen.

A similar thing happens when I place the Task bar at the top of the screen.

But when the task bar is at the bottom of the screen or at the right hand side of the screen then this odd behaviour doesn't occur. And this odd behaviour also doesn't show up when CC is not maximized.

(I daily life I use the metric system, like Kilometers (Km), centimeters (cm), etc)

- Came already across 2 (small) translations errors in CC v5.00 Beta. Program code being "a bit buggy" or a fault of the translator ? Need to see where & when those errors occur and that takes some more time.

I need to add to reply #23 of this thread that previous versions of CC (e.g. CC v4.19) do correctly recognize that I placed the Task Bar on the left hand side of the screen. So, in that regard, CC v5.00 Beta "went off the rails". This certainly is a new bug.

You can report bugs about the new v5 Beta here:

But I would like to keep this thread "alive & kicking".

But I would like to keep this thread "alive & kicking".

Fine and dandy for you, but the developers would rather you placed the 5.0 bugs there, so please do.

O.K. I'll keep it mind. But then I need to come across a (new) bug in the latest Beta version. And I haven't (yet).

Bug in CC v5.02. It's another language related problem. I switched the language from dutch to english but some text still shows up in dutch. This time in the "System Restore point" screen.

See reply #9 in this thread for a full explanation:

Seems like CC v5.02 has switched back to the "Message Box" feature (like in CC v4.18).

Just joined so please bear with me... sorry if this is not the right location for this question.

In CC Version 5.02.5101 (64-bit) I have "Old Prefetch Data" checked but find that when I run CC none of the entries in Windows/Prefetch directory are deleted.

Is this a bug or is this because the current entries in that directory are not considered "old"? And if so, when will they be removed?

I use Windows 8.1Ultimate (64-bit).

Prefetch entries will be deleted when they have been unused for 14 days. That is if you have Prefetch enabled, and it is a component of 8.1 (it is on 8.0).

CC v5.05 can be and should be improved !!!!

The developers of CC have gotten A LOT OF flak for the new color schemes of CC versions v5.xx but since they didn't go back to the old scheme I presume they are determined to stick with the current GUI colors.

But that doesn't mean the coloring scheme of the GUI can be & should be improved.

- Select "Options", "Include", "Add". Then a window pops up. And there CC's "color behaviour" can be improved.

- Click on the downwards pointing arrow and a dropbox opens offering the user three more options. But for the user it's not too obvious what those extra options are. The reason is that the background color in the dropbox is the same as the background color of the "Include" window/menu (i.e. white). That's (at least for me) very confusing and I assume for any other user as well.

Solution: Change the background color of the "Include" window/menu from white to e.g. grey. Then the dropbox will stand out from the rest of the window/menu. The CC developers have recognized this problem in the "Settings" screen/pane (Options >> Settings). The background color there is grey but the background color of the "Language" dropbox is white. So, I would assume this color behaviour can be fixed as well.
