Bug Report:
With secure deletion enabled CCleaner randomly fails when cleaning the Recycle Bin - when there are files in the Recycle Bin.
Additional Info:
* I first noticed this bug in the previous version of CCleaner.
* The bug is non-existent with secure deletion turned-off.
any chance the Recycle Bin is corrupted?
I assume you still get this bug with a newly minted Recycle Bin.
The bin is not corrupted, I'm confident it is a bug in CCleaner because like I stated in the first post the bug is non-existent with secure deletion turned-off.
how often are you finding this bug happening?
Like I stated in the first post: randomly
It definitely doesn't happen everytime, and CCleaner doesn't spit out a crash .log file either.
It would be nice if Piriform would insert the crash data into Event Viewer if they don't already, because I found nothing related to it in the Event Viewer log.
if you had said it was happening, say 1 in 5 times, then maybe some of us with a similar setup (with XP for example) could try and replicate.
but if it's more like 1 in 100, that's going to be needle in a haystack.
It's that needle in the haystack! And trying to replicate it when also using /DEBUG has turned up nothing.
I think it's probably related to the other bug reports of people stating it doesn't clean the recycle bin, has to be.
