Firefox has gone from 17.83% to 16.95% a .88% loss
Safari has gone from 5.82% to 5.51% a about .3% loss
Opera has gone from .69% to .65% a .4% loss
However Mozilla has gained .6% at .14%

Those stats mean nothing to me. IE's market share is distorted by the simple and sad fact that IE is forced on everybody that buys a computer with Windows on it. If FireFox was standard on all Windows installs IE would be non existent in short order. Opera gets intentionally blocked by many sites and as a result you need to set Opera to identify as IE or FireFox to use it on many sites so that distorts the numbers as well.
That would be real hard as it would be just as hard to remove Explore.exe as IEexplore.exe because they are the foundation of Windows.If FireFox was standard on all Windows installs IE would be non existent in short order.
If you meant IE usage would be non existent in short order then that statement might make a bit more sense.

The point is IE has the market share it has because it comes with Windows not because it's good browser. Most people just click the little blue "e" and start browsing. FireFox takes some effort. You have to install it and most people just can't be bothered.

I dont think thats entirely true.
While I do agree that most people use IE just because its already on their computer, I have seen a stat from Mozilla that said something like 60%(or higher) of people that download mozilla don't keep it.

To be honest the default install of Firefox is not very impressive. As you know it's the extensions that make it a great browser. Those 60% probably heard all the great things about FireFox and than downloaded it and thought whats so special. Takes a little more work to find and install the extensions. Opera on the other hand is loaded right out of the box.

The default install is just a lean browser to me. Cherished add-ons like Adblock Plus make me stick with Firefox, and wish it would just be a part of the default installation.
Edit: Hmm, someone should make an add-on that let's you build your own Firefox installer including all the add-ons you want to be installed with it.

I am using 16 addons right now in Firefox amd most of them come built into Opera.

Killing Zip folders is like moving back to DOS command mode and having to find a Zip utility
Why not just say Get Ubuntu and be done with Windows

Probably a good suggestion for anybody. Or get a Mac. Two options I see more and more people doing since the release of Vista.
meh...vista doesnt bother me. i prefer xp, but its not that much of a headache. and i will upgrade when then next version of windows comes out. one day i will get a mac for fun and a change of pace, but cant see myself ever going to ubuntu.
