Windows Defender Antivirus detects and removes this threat.

The threat is a backdoor trojan that is related to the "trojanized" version of a third-party utility known as "CCleaner".

Very old news.

Perhaps you had CCleaner 5.33 installed. Make sure you are using latest CCleaner build 5.40

Wonder what those characters are that start of the 1st post? Looks like an apostrophe and 3 periods.

These seem harmless but I remember a while back that someone hid some malicious links like that.

Actually even the installer file will trigger this. The compromised version 5.33 of CCleaner does not need to be installed.
