Bitdefender FreeEdition

Why don't more people use BitDefender's Free AntiVirus software if it's good enough as a scanner in the Spyware Hell Forum? I'd think that everyone would be using Bitdefender, but it seems most are using AntiVir.

I think bitdefender has a great online scanner, but the free version doesn't have on demand protection at all. It runs resident just to auto update, it doesn't actually catch anything unless you scan with it.

And if you uninstall it, it leaves traces of itself you can easily see with Autoruns or Process Explorer. I hate Cling-ons. Live long and prosper.

LMAO

Thanks for the info, that answers my question. :)

Even worse than Norton?

I'd like to use as an on-demand only secondary scanner, however for many years now after I install it there's an immediate complaint about not being able to run or that it's timed-out therefore I can't use it. Don't know why either.

I wouldn't know. I never had Norton on this pooter.
