Beware of IRS phone scam

Beware of an IRS phone scam here in the U.S. where some British sounding man states he's an officer and you'll be in trouble if you don't phone him back. It's a scam!

Edit:

If anyone gets an IRS phone scam, or IRS email scam here in the U.S. it can be reported to the government on this page:

https://www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam.shtml

Reported to the government? I trust them less than the scammers.

Really....ok not gonna touch that flopping fish....sigh! time for uncle @nergal to take his/her/its pills I guess, grumble grumble.

Nergal, PLEASE don't take that politically. I can get peed at the current mess, but I don't follow anything out. I'm not one of Those idiots.

Your own personal opinion in that case however the only way to catch the people or rings doing such illegal things is to report it directly to the people who need to know about it to stop it.

I reported it because the government makes it very easy to do so - as long as you have retained the information available which in my case my caller I.D. had the information needed for reporting the phone number it was called from.
