If it is one short beep, it is probably a ram refresh failure. How much ram do you have, and is it SDRAM?

Cud a registry tweak help?
no
the windows registry is a database which is full of values. the values can be accessed by Windows APIs so that they can be edited. programs get values from the windows registry so that they can work correctly. your error sounds like your hardware is making the beeping noise. Programs are software not hardware. if you need hardware help, contact the company that made the piece of hardware.
edit:or at least tell us which piece of hardware makes the beep noise. if you dont know, remove the case and start windows normally and try to hear

Hello-
A possible solution-
Go to Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Devices>sounds and highlight "default beep" and select 'none' in the sounds dropdown menu.
You could also Google "shutdown beep" for more info....
Finally an answer that brings me closer to a fix
