Control Panel\ Backup and Restore\ Restore all Users Files\ Choose a different date\ Show backup from:
the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Backup and Restore.
In Windows 7 there is no "System and Maintenance" in the Control Panel. Just System. And the only thing you can change there is the size of how much memory you can commit to System Restore.
I find that XP had more options to System Restore than W7. Not one of the better features of W7.
Wait. I found Control Panel/Backup and Restore. I found out what you meant as opposed to the link you posted. Your advice points to what someone would've already made a back-up disk of. That's also why I like XPs' version of System Restore as well.
There are so many types of backup.
My guess is NOT the Restore Point system,
but the CCleaner option to create a registry backup.
Perhaps Betty just needs to know where this CC*.reg backup is held.
I cannot advise because :-
I use the portable version in a non-standard location;
and Betty has not stated her operating system which affects the path to User documents.
• The plea for assistance was posted in the Software forum, not in CCleaner forum (re registry backup).
• Had she made a Restore Point prior to cleaning she would have simply restored from that point.
• Lacking additional details, the only logical backup remaining was the system backup via Control Panel. For brevity I posted my path in addition to the link for the MS tutorial.
Whichever, betty has not returned so I presume her mission was accomplished.
