After installing CCleaner Pro last month, I used it to update drivers on my Lenovo Legion 5. Now I have no audio in or out and the devices are not visible. When they appeared in Device Manager as “hidden” the msg said “code 45, not connected”.
Other forums indicated “re-install drivers” for Nvidia, which i did, but now the devices are gone completely.
This all startedbwith CCleaner doing a driver update, what gives?
Open the Driver Updater again and use the ‘+ Fix issues’ button.
Follow the instructions to see if CCleaner can roll back the driver for you.
If not then do a Restart (not a Shudtdown) of the machine and then open Device Manager and from the top menu, Actions> Scan for hardware changes, to see if it will pick the sound device up and install the Windows recommended driver for it.
PS. I never update drivers unless I’m having an issue with one, if it ain’t broke don’t try to fix it.
If I am having a driver issue then I will uninstall that driver in Device Manager, Restart, and scan for changes as above.
Fix does not show any drivers related to the issue as to be reverted.
Device Mgr action to search for hardware shows nothing found. I even shut dow and unplugged audio speakers and did a reboot then shut down again and reinstalled hardware.
To me it is acting like the Nvidia device is gone, but it is displayed in the sound controllers part of device mgr.
I’m at the pount where a windows restore may be an option, but loosing all my software licensing will cause problems.
