My documents folder was clicked on during remote service. I fear my files may have been stolen. I hope I’m wrong but they had no reason to have gone to my documents folder. This was after they had already uninstalled and reinstalled the ccleaner program. Also, their fix did not work. The new program hangs up during the scan and never completes the scan. I’m just going to cancel membership.
I have ID monitoring. If my ID is stolen, my accounts breached, or any info put on the web that was only in my documents folder, I’ll know exactly who did it and where to start the investigation. If you are thinking of having CCleaner do remote service, don’t. You don’t need them to fix this file. Just have go into your apps and remove the old program yourself; and then have them email you the new file to download yourself. They told me I needed a new license and that would fix it. It didn’t. I’ve since stopped my membership. Maybe I’ll try again after they get the kinks worked out of their version 7. But never again will I allow remote service.
