This thread gives me the opportunity to raise a point about .net framework.
I've got net framework 1.1, 1.1 hotfix, net framework 2, and net framework 3, and I've wondered for some time if all versions are required.
Been googling around for a while tonight, (nothing on the tv worth watching), and the nearest thing to an answer was this article.
The .NET Framework 3.0 is the next generation of the .NET Framework that sits on the top of the previous version. It introduces some additional features, and in this article Hima discusses these features in detail.
Yup, from MS "Version 3.0 enhances version 2.0 with new technologies". I've never bothered installing it and don't intend to until something complains it won't work without it
I got some of those entries too and removed them right away. I always run CCleaner's Issues scanner after Windows Updates anyways because sometimes there's some invalid registry data that appears after the updates.
