Anyone bake?

My girlfriend and I have been on a bit of a baking spree recently. The other day we made some delicious cookies.

Yesterday, we wanted to recreate the cookies, but they had a problem of being too hard after they cooled down.

So I turned them into these and they were amazing.

Here's the recipe if anyone wants to try:

Cookies:

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cupoats

Heat oven to 375°F (190.5°C)

Put on trays, place in oven

Bake for ~15 minutes or till ready.

Makes about a dozen and a half cookies the size of the picture.

Brownie-Like Deliciousness:

  • 1 cup butter, completely melted (this is important)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Heat oven to 375°F (190.5°C)

Mix until the batter is pretty evenly colored and there are no visible lumps.

Pour into cake/brownie tray (melted butter instead of softened should make the batter pretty watery, this will be easy)

Bake for ~15 minutes or until you see that they have the consistency of brownies (they'll rise)

Enjoy! :)

I haven't baked in years. Too busy! I leave baking to women, :P

I baked me a wheatbread cheese sandwich a day or two ago... Does that count?

Does baking frozen boxed food count?

I'm baked right now.

Hot outside again then?

It probably does not mean what I think it means.

By the way your recipe has "1 cupoats" (1 cup oats), I feel like calling a grocery store and asking if they have cupoats. :P

cupoats are actually oats the size of 8oz cups.

Learned something new.

i made that up.

I'm going to tell your Mother you've been telling lies :)
