Hi this is my first posting, Before anyone gets on my back saying this is not a major problem, I know but it is one of those annoying things in life. I have two ext in my registry they are 1x '.tif' and 1x'.tiff', i know what they are but i just can't get RID! I have run CCleaner for issues and deleted them with the program, but they still appear each time i run the program. I have tried to delete them in regedit, no joy, I have tried Dial-a-Fix still no joy I would appreciate if someone could come up with an alternative , even if it means downloading a program that uses these extensions and perhaps if i uninstal the program it may take the extensions with it! Please anyone Help!
Hello Jim and welcome to the forum
I can assure you no one will make fun of your problem. Are these extensions from pictures still on your computer?

Yes hazlenut, I have tried everything i know all i receive when trying to delete is 'cannot delete .tif/tiff:error while delting key'
Jim you can try this, it's a very safe to use and it's good to keep on your computer anyway.

If you still have no joy you could try renaming the file to see if you can delete it then.
If not it may be an idea to post a log in case you have any malware.
Thank hazlenut for that little ditty but i have already tried to rename, move, delete, everything but nothing
So unlocker did not work.
Do you have full admin permission to delete the key in regedit?
I presume you have tried safe mode?
I know someone who turned off system restore, did a scan, and then turned restore back on to cure a problem like this as a virus was recreating it.
If you consider doing a log, here are some instuctions which may help you, post the log in the hjt log forum section.
Thanx Hazelnut, I've tried hijack before but didnot know how to use it, I will go to the drawing board and study the help files. Thanx again for your time and patience and help it's appreciated. lol Jimp

The log looks ok but you should run the scan I posted just in case.
When you ran Dial a fix your sure you ran the right tool? Tools> Repair Permissions. You may want to try running ccleaner in safe mode as well.(probably wont help but worth a shot. Do not run dial a fix in safe mode though.)
