After running ccleaner Chrome gets redirect error starting Gmail

I have had the same issue with the last two versions of CCLEANER. I run CCleaner and it works successfully. I then try to access GMAIL using Google Chome and and receive the following error:

This webpage has a redirect loop

The webpage at https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLogin?service=mail&passive=true&rm=false&continue=https://mail.google.com/mail/?tab%3Dwm%26pli%3D1&scc=1&ltmpl=default&ltmplcache=2 has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer.

Here are some suggestions:

Error 310 (net::ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS): There were too many redirects.

Access to GMAIL works fine on IE8 and FF. Running winxp SP3.

The last time I did this I tried reclearing cache and cookies even though CCleaner should have just done that. This did not help. All cookies are allowed according to settings options in Chrome

The only way i got arround it was to un install Chrome and reinstall it. This does not seem like a good solution to me.

Well I have not received any response on the forum so to resolve my issue i uninstalled Google Chrome and reinstalled Google Chrome and all is working again. I gues I will have to see if the next time I run CCleaner it breaks again.

Sounds, off hand, like CCleaner is trying to clean the chrome while chrome is running, either still open or not completely closed in background processes (as happens with chrome extensions such that might tell you Gmail is new even when chrome is closed or Chrome Print Chrome Sync) and is corrupting the Cookie or cache database
