I have one version of CCleaner Portable on my “C” drive.
A have another version on a Thumb Drive “J”
I have “Save all settings to INI file selected on both.
When I change the Settings for “Add "Run CCleaner" option to Recycle Bin Context Menu” and “Add "Open CCleaner" option to Recycle Bin Context Menu” on the first version, it causes the settings on the second version to also change when I open the second version.
I would like to stop this behavior.
I open version one.
I select “Save all settings--”.
I close Version one.
I open Version two.
The “Save all settings---” is selected.
I deselect “Save all settings---” on version two.
I close version two.
I open version one.
“Save all settings---” is deselected.
Etc.
The only work around that I know of would be to keep the settings separate from each other. I.e. treat each as a separate install/portable version as if it they were being used on different computers where you definitely wouldn't want to mix the settings, etc.
I Think that the add to recycle bin option isn't kept in the settings file for ccleaner; it is my understanding that it writes some values in windows' registry.
Both versions are Portable and the Portable uses a “ccleaner.ini” file by default.
The System installed version can use the registry OR the “ccleaner.ini” file.
Things only work if I leave the settings the same on both.
Depending on which of the two I set it to " “Add "Run CCleaner" option to Recycle Bin Context Menu” (from when both are deselected) it will Run its own version.
From when both versions are deselected in settings, if I select “Add "Run CCleaner" option to Recycle Bin Context Menu” while in settings in the one on J drive, it will put the link in the Context Menu that will Run the version on the J drive.
If I then run the one on the C drive and it is also set to “Add "Run CCleaner" option to Recycle Bin Context Menu”, the link in the recycle Bin Context Menu will run the version in the J drive ( If the drive is plugged in).
