IE has seriously needed for many years a good and trusted ad blocker that's freeware or open source without any 3rd party adware bundled with it.
I don't know how it works in newer versions of IE and Windows, however it looked really plain on my system with IE8 and WinXP and it didn't have much that could be customized as of yet. Here's to hoping it becomes more full fledged feature-wise like it is in Firefox.
I tried it on IE 10 under Win7 x64 and it looked exactly the same as you describe. As I said, I guess it will get improved over time.
I don't believe it works for IE if you have Enhanced Protected Mode running; basically the 64 bit version of IE.
Its working fine on my system. This used to be Simple adblock but has now been taken on by adblock plus
What it's needing is the ability to add other subscriptions like the Firefox version can use, such as EasyPrivacy, etc.
