1 Billion Downloads

A billion installations does not mean a billion running copies. The number is somewhat less. And what about 1 user who's been with the "program" since day 1, that's perhaps 30 installs right there.

I took all this into account when I did my calculation.

So a billion downloads might give rise to more (say, a gazillion) running installations, right? Mind boggling if you think about it.

One user who has been there since day 1 would have seen at least one hundred installs on their own by my own count by now.

One billion downloads means that there are alot of happy users that keep coming back for more.

Let the hard working people at Piriform have their moment in the spotlight.

I know I've done my share of downloading over the years. :)

WTG Piriform!

That's impressive.

I'm sure I downloaded it at least 1,000 times over the years.

1 billion divided by 1,000 = 1 million.

Sorry for skewering the download stats... hahaha

/me shakes head

No dude,

1 billion -1(superfast !=1 =1000 therefore count skewed by 999) = 999999001 Downloads

what you stated is

Superfast = every downloader

The download count could be even higher for users that only download each version once, put it on a USB Thumb Drive and then put it onto other computers. I know my download count contribution since 2007 or 2008 would be at least doubled based on that alone if each computer had a unique download.

Would be interesting to know if that 1 billion count is just from what people have downloaded from Piriform.com, if it is the actual download amount would be even more impressive!

Yeah does the 1 billion count from FileHippo and CNET as well?

1,000,000,000

30 ÷

--------------------------

33,333,333.3....

It's still impressive.

I for one appreciate a good app and its free for home use!

That 3/10th of a download got interrupted because customer didn't pay bill on-time.
