  1. If I run Custom Clean a number of times, one after another, the Advanced Report still shows:- Google Chrome - Cookies 0KB 4 files The log shows:- Cleaning Complete - (5.382 secs) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 0 bytes removed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Advanced Report ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Google Chrome - Cookies 0 KB 4 files ----------------------------
  2. I recently installed the portable version of Google Chrome in order to test something on it that didn't work in Firefox. There was no traditional install of the portable version as far as it showing up in Programs and features, just an extraction of the files contained within the executable I noticed that after installing the portable Google Chrome I had an entry in the Custom Clean section called Google Chrome. I figure it was created due to the portable Google Chrome install. I no longer needed the portable version so I just deleted the folder. There is no uninstall in Programs and Fea
  3. CCleaner installation also installed Google Chrome without mention or option. Wonder what else was installed? I no longer trust products from Piriform and will recommend against them wherever I can.
  4. FYI - the latest version of CCleaner is NOT removing the Chrome cookies... very distressing. Can you fix this?
  5. I've been using free version of CCleaner for a few years now, and had no problems, and have also used Google Chrome as my browser for many years. But recently, I've noticed that when I click some links, they open up in this new CCleaner browser, which is most annoying, as I want to use chrome as my browser. Can you please explain how this happened, because I don't remember installing a new browser. Also, a website I'm using now for a paid educational course needs me to install a Chrome extension application, and it's going to be a real pain if I have to constantly swap between the two browsers
  6. The "Error STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION" is a known bug in Chrome and Edge Chromium. And as the CCleaner browser is also Chromium based then the bug may well be affecting it as well. The last I heard Google don't have a fix for it yet, updating your browser may fix it. (But may not). See this article: https://techdows.com/2020/07/chrome-crashes-with-status_access_violation-error.html There's a workround you can try if updating your browser doesn't fix it, see this article: https://www.chromestory.com/2020/05/status_access_violation/#status_access_violation_8211_Workaround If y
  7. Hello! I've been using CCleaner for a long time in Windows environment and regarded it as a very good product! Suppose it still is but for the moment it isn't working correctly on my Mac regarding deletion of or erasing the internet history in Chrome. Cookies are deleted, trash bin is emptied ..., but not the internet history. I'm running Chrome version 55.0.2883.95 (64-bit) and the OS is macOS Sierra, version 10.12.2 . I'm using the CCleaner free version 1.14.451. It would be nice if you can find a reason to this. I can see that the file History, History-journal and maybe other related
  8. This is only with the websites that are saved as bookmarks in Chrome. The website highlighted in the screenshot is in my bookmarks. Whenever I visit this website, CCleaner does not wipe this link from the "History" file. Same thing with other websites that I have in Chrome bookmarks.
  9. I have windows 10, 64 bit. I run cCleaner, I check all the boxes - yet I'll still be logged into gmail, or yahoo. Why? It seems it doesnt delete the browser history. Again, I have every box checked... My browsers vary from chrome, ie, firefox (have all 3installed). How do I fix this? I feel its more of a program thing, I have all the boxes checked..
  10. CCleaner does not clean Google Chrome's cookies. In particular, if before running CCleaner I am connected to GMail in Google CHrome, after running CCleaner I am still connected to GMail In CCleaner, all options under the "Google Chrome" heading have been selected. In Google Chrome, the option to run background apps after Chrome is closed have been de-selected. In Google Chrome, sync has been disabled. CCleaner version 5.63.7540 (64 bit). There is no sync to the cloud. Google Chrome version 79.0.3945.130 (Build ufficiale) (a 64 bit).
  11. Thanks for sharing that, it may be helpful to others. (And to the Ccleaner developers). I don't know that app, or why it should give a problem with cleaning Edge Chrome in particular. I'll pass your findings upwards.
  12. Are you saying that when you close Edge Chrome Smart Cleaning runs but then closes itself? YesWas it working OK until recently? Yes But i found out the reason now. I installed Ashampoo Snap 12 some days ago. When Snap12 is disabled, CCleaner works fine.
  13. Chrome Version 81.0.4044.122 (Official Build) (64-bit) CCleaner version 5.65 7632 Run cleaner with check boxes to clean history, cache, cookies, download history, last location, results are all cleaned. Logged into a website, but I did not get the results I expected with drop down list etc. Opened Chrome, checked settings, History had been cleaned as expected, but cache was not cleared, manually cleared, logged back into previous website, and all options were now available as expected.
  14. Strange, so a few questions to try and work out what is happening. Just to make sure first, we are talking about Google Chrome browser? Where are you seeing this persistent history? (ie. in the browser, in CCleaner, or somewhere else?) Is it always the same websites? Are you willing/able to share a screenshot of what you are seeing? Are you using Health Check or Custom Clean? If it's Custom Clean then what do you have ticked/unticked for Chrome? And for completeness: Which Windows version are you on? and which Antivirus do you use?
  15. It's a Chromium based browser so this should be the same: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95314?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en Note that there is a difference between the Startup Page and the page for new tabs. If that doesn't do just what you are wanting then look at the many 'new tab' extensions available for Chrome.
  16. I am using Chrome and have it set to reopen all tabs that were open. Now, after running Ccleaner 5.35.620 I reopen my Chrome browser and only my pinned tabs are there. It closes all other tabs. I have got Chrome to "Continue where I left off." Is there something I can do in Ccleaner so it doesn't wipe out my open tabs when I restart Chrome?
  17. Are you meaning similar to this with the up-arrows and %'s? That's simply the new Firefox 'Total Cookie Protection' that was introduced recently; first in Firefox version 85 for Supercookies, and now in version 86.0 for all cookies: https://blog.mozilla.org/security/2021/02/23/total-cookie-protection/ It means that if you use Firefox there are now more cookies, each website you visit has it's own 'cookie jar' - which can make things more difficult when working out which 'Cookies to keep'. (I suspect that Chrome and other browsers will soon be following suit with similar 'cook
  18. CCleaner Browser is Chromuim based so you should just add the extension as you would with Chrome browser, see this post:

  20. So I used Recuvia to recover all files in C:\Users\me\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default. I have moved them to this folder. The problem is that I can still not see the past history. What do I have to do so you can see the past history?
  21. - I still have to make the jump from from Windows 7 to Windows 10. One reason is that I haven't yet found GOOD alternatives for a number of programs / plugins I use in combination with Internet Explorer 11 and that don't seem to be available for (GOOGLE) Chrome. So, I have to switch back and forth between IE 11 and Chrome which is a REAL "pain in the a**". - Does Windows 10 still contain Internet Explorer (e.g. version 11) ? And does IE 11 there still receive (security) updates ? The info on this topic out on the internet is (very) confusing. - Can someone recommend a good download m

  23. I have read how to install Chrome extensions, but I am unable to install any screenshot ones. When I go to Chrome web store and click on install and give permission it sticks on " Checking" Please help. I don't care which screenshot app, I just really need one of some kind to work in your browser
