  1. Hi, the cCleaner update came directly from piriform. When I opened cCleaner if stated there was a newer version and asked if I wanted to download it. So, I clicked it. It wasn't the slim version, as I had to decline the toolbar stuff. Just this morning I read up on the slim version, as I previously had no idea what slim meant. Slim for me in the future!
  2. On my PC with Windows 7, I updated to the lastest version of cCleaner 4. .... AVG 2014 internet security popped up saying malware was in the latest update of CCleaner. It offered this as the problem: MalSign.SearchProtect.IDD The last 3 letters may be 1DD instead of IDD; I'm not sure. False positive?? What is the function of MalSign.SearchProtect.IDD ? Thank you =)
  3. oops here is the attachment mentioned in the post above.
  4. Hi, If you see the attached screen shot [in post below], you will notice that AVG is not even listed as an item to clean. My previous AVG version used to be listed and cleaned until I changed to 2014. Oddly, CCleaner lists McAfee which I do not have and never had. What is a typical time frame to update CC once a major software program updates? Any hope soon for AVG2014? Thx
  5. CCleaner does not clean AVG Internet security 2014. AVG is a common program. CCLeaner USED to clean my older version. Is Piriform planning on correcting this? Thx
  6. Greetings, Sorry for the long space between replies, but I get on the computer about once a week, on weekends. Am I understanding that sometime in the near FUTURE Piriform will add cleaning of AVG 2014 to the program directory? Excuse my ignorance, as I'm far less knowledgeable about computers than you; but I can follow directions once I understand. I read the link about adding or creating an INI file. What in the creation of the INI file makes it a winapp2.ini verses a winapp1.ini ? Is this what I should do to fix the problem, IF so, you recall nothing in my registry looks like this. Am I looking in the wrong spot? [AVG AntiVirus 2014] ID=2313 LangSecRef=3024 Detect=HKLM\SOFTWARE\AVG\AVG2013 Default=True FileKey1=%CommonAppData%\AVG2014\Log|*.log FileKey2=%CommonAppData%\AVG2014\scanlogs|*.log FileKey3=%CommonAppData%\AVG2014\Log|history.xml FileKey4=%CommonAppData%\AVG2014\update\backup|*.* FileKey5=%CommonAppData%\AVG2014\Emc\Log|*.log FileKey6=%CommonAppData%\AVG2014\IDS\config|*List.zip.bak FileKey7=%CommonAppData%\AVG2014\IDS\profile|globalLoadable.bak FileKey8=%CommonAppData%\AVG2014\Temp|*.tmp Thank you for your patient reply. Mrs. M.
  7. Hi Nergal, I hope I did the correct editing, so far. Previously I had tried to reinstall CCleaner, but it didn't fix anything. Inside the registry I removed AVG2012 and AVG8 folders [after backing up the registry]. There is a typo error in my original post. I have AVG version 2014 [not 2013]. I did not do the next thing you typed above: EDIT: Internal CCleaner Code for the Above Entries: I'm a tad confused about that last step. Nothing in my registry comes up looking like your photo copied entries above. See attached registry pictures. Thank you for your kind assistance. - Mrs. M.
  8. Antivirus AVG 2012 is checked under utilities, but I no longer have it. When I had the 2012 version of AVG, my CCleaner cleaned the unneeded logs, etc. When the AVG 2012 expired, I removed it from my computer to try a different antivirus. Ten days later I bought AVG 2013, and installed it. [Yes, I first removed all traces of Kaspersky before installing AVG 2013]. CCleaner is not recognizing the 2013 AVG version and the 2012 AVG is still checked in the Utilities section of CCleaner. How do I get rid of the 2012 AVG listing and get my CCleaner to list 2013 version AND clean it??
