Thanks, nukecad. I aborted the scan soon after posting this thread, and started again earlier today. Right now it's at 4% after running for a couple hours. The estimated time left is 3 days, lol. Hopefully it won't actually take that long, but I'm not using the drive nor the laptop it's connected to, so I can wait however long it takes. I want to sell the drive, which is why I want to find everything and clean it out.

I started scanning a 2TB external HDD, and it seems to be hanging on Step 1 of 3: Scanning drive for deleted files, and still calculating time left, and has only found 23 files. It's been this way for 30-40 minutes now, with nothing showing in the progress bar at all. Is this normal?

On my thumb drive, when Recuva starts scanning, it says there are 252 files found. At the end of the scan there are no files in the list. When I rescan immediately afterward, it still says there are 252 files found. What and where are these 252 files??

Hi everyone, I'm new to Recuva. On the first run on a thumb drive, I was surprised that it found over 300 files from a very long time ago. Yet there were also a couple thousand files it could not recover - they were 0 byte files. I've used BCWipe for many years for wiping files from the thumb drive, so I was concerned that they were found. How can I truly get rid of these files once and for all?
