I don't know if this is no longer needed or the CCleaner developers fixed this but I've just checked my CCleaner.exe Properties and it looks like it must've reverted to Defaults as some point in the past. I didn't do this. The app has continued to work so I assume it was fixed sometime ago. I couldn't say at what I point as I thought it was still set how I describe in the first post of this thread. Hi Dave, Thanks. As I don't believe CCleaner officially supports Windows on ARM I only use the Custom Clean feature. I wouldn't trust the Registry feature yet. Correct the 32-Bit version. I didn't know there was a 64-Bit CCleaner though? Windows on ARM 64-Bit AMD64 App support is out in Windows 10 Insider builds. Microsoft haven't said when it's going to RTM but I'm hoping by the end of the year. I can't use a couple utilities I used to use, but otherwise I'm using the same apps I did on my (Intel based) Surface Pro 4. Currently ARM (32-Bit and 64-Bit) + 32-Bit x86 apps are only supported though yes. Thanks for passing it to Support. It's going to be much slower on Windows than MacOS but Microsoft will only continue to develop Windows on ARM.

Update: Retested with the latest release build: 5.79.8704 You still need to do this. I've just put the Compatibility tab for CCleaner.exe back to defaults and it's exactly say as it was when I posted it in February. But as no one's replied to the thread I'm guessing it's not been looked at yet? Thanks

You don't do it in the app but either of these places: Right Click on the CCleaner shortcut on the Start Menu -> Properties -> Compatibility tab Go to -> C:\Program Files (x86)\CCleaner -> CCleaner.exe file -> Properties-> Compatibility tab -> Then set it as I show in the screenshot in my original post. CCleaner should now open. I've not seen any difference changing this.

Can this be investigated? The Surface Pro X has been out since October 2019. I'm not expecting an ARM64 binary but why aren't Piriform still testing CCleaner for Windows on ARM compatibility? Thanks p.s. I only use the Custom Clean section.

Hi, Version: 5.76.8269 Windows 10 20H2 (OS Build: 19042.804) I don't know if it's only with this version as I've only just noticed the issue, although it used to open fine. On my Surface Pro X CCleaner opens in Task Manager for a second then disappears. Nothing shows on screen and there are no errors. Oddly when the app doesn't load a file called gcapi_16133347499292.dll appears in the installation folder, this disappears when it loads correctly: I tried uninstalling CCleaner, deleting the installation folder and reinstalling it. I've tracked it down to CCleaner suddenly not being compatible with WoA default x86 emulation settings. You need to tick Disable App Cache in Compatibility Settings and then it loads fine: Disable application cache The operating system will cache compiled blocks of code to reduce emulation overhead on subsequent executions. This setting requires the emulator to recompile all app code at runtime. This isn't ticked as standard.

Hi Joe, Nice. Sounds great. Qualcomm Snapdragon 8CX. Their first "made for PC" SOC I believe. Yeah I can see those not working. My VPN (Windscribe) isn't compatible but some Googling and I was pleasantly surprised to find Viscosity has been upgraded to be ARM compatible and it's only $14 USD. Bizarrely the Facebook Messenger Windows 10 (UWP) app isn't compatible. I thought all UWP apps were , but it's the only Microsoft Store app I've not been able to install. It's by no means a problem I've just set Messenger as a Web Ap (messenger.com) using Edge. They're barely any different. They're not really designed for "business machines", except employees who use Business Web Apps, Microsoft Office and Cloud Storage. You have a choice of using the equally equipped Microsoft Teams and Slack Desktop or Web Apps too. You would also be able to access a work Remote Desktop Server in conjunction with DirectAccess. Third party VPNs, Citrix, AntiVirus you'd likely want the Intel Surface Pro 7. I picked up a Surface Pro X from eBay the other day to replace my ageing Surface Pro 4. I just love the form factor and mostly use Web Apps + Outlook these days. It's gorgeous and nibble. But I'm still installing the few 32-Bit apps I use like Spotify. Thanks

Hi Joe, You mean you are not sure as you've not re-ticked it? Thanks for the heads up. I figured the File Deletion aspect cannot do harm but may not use the Registry part whilst CCleaner on Windows on ARM devices hasn't been signed off. Like you say especially not Windows Services. Thanks again.
