CCleaner has stopped working. When I click the icon, the little blue circle swirls for a second, and then disappears. Rebooting the computer does not help. However, if I watch Task Manager on a reboot, I do see the CCleaner background process appear briefly, then become "suspended", and then close out. So it seems that something has gone awry in Windows that is blocking or restricting CCleaner from running.
Uninstalling and then re-installing CCleaner results in the same behavior, so whatever is causing the issue would seem to be external to CCleaner itself.
I am running CCleaner free version at home, and it is updated to the latest version.
A google search on "CCleaner will not open in Windows" seems to indicate that this is a fairly common problem and is the result of a malware "trick" that screws with CCleaner, and persists even after the malware is removed??
Any help would be appreciated in solving this!!
If it IS a common malware issue, I'm surprised that there is not an entry in Piriform's troubleshooting FAQ...
