  1. Hi there, I'm new to this. I have a lot of assignments and personal writing projects to recover and am looking for help. Recuva did its thing and found loads of different files, mostly gibberish, and lots of Word files numbered something like 00000233. I've tried some of the troubleshooting suggestions to actually get them to open (like changing them to .Rtf files,) and it will bring up word templates for resumes and leaflets, not anything I have written. Most often it just spits a blank document at me, or what I would consider a headache in written form (just symbols, black marks, a total hellscape in a word document) I'm not expecting miracles as this was my harddrive from a laptop that got water damage. The harddrive didn't appear wet or damaged and I would literally give away a limb to have these files back before my university submission day. I've tried searching for different file names but I understand a deep scan cannot recover names. Is there any way I can make it look for stuff that I actually wrote rather than templates, and does anybody have any advice at all regarding this? Massively appreciated, thank you!
