  1. I guess I'll be upgrading to FF 3 (I am concerned about security) . . . and hopefully figure out how to avoid the "Awesome Bar" aka "Awful Bar" thing and a few other parts I disliked about it. So . . . I can simply download FF 3 over my current version of FF? Thanks from a non-computer specialist!
  2. That's not good! However, my virus & spyware protection have not come up with anything . . . Would everyone recommend switching to FF 3 or should I just go with what I have? I just hate that "Awesome" bar that keeps bringing up sites I've gone to . . . very annoying. That was the biggest reason I switched . . . in addition to "hang ups" on some sites.
  3. I agree . . . my current version is working fine. As long as I know Mozilla is supporting it I'm sticking with what I have.
  4. Corona: I have a life other than spending it on a computer. Others: A while back I did "upgrade" to FF 3 but didn't like some of the new stuff, especially the address bar with all previous sites showing that I 'visited'. Is the current FF OK to run? Has everyone upgraded to FF 3?
  5. I got a pop-up from Firefox that says my current version of Foxfire is not being supported. Then asked if I want to download Firefox 3. Has anyone gotten this and should I go to Firefox 3? THanks
  6. Can anyone recommend a free, easy-to-use pdf creator? I'm sure it's been discussed here before, but I can't find it. Thanks
  7. I just fixed the problem. There is a blurb on the Ask.com page that says: How did I get Ask.com? I followed the instructions and down loaded a fix and now Ask.com is not showing up.
  8. I have spyware blaster & mcafee. I used Malware bytes every now and then and they all show no spyware. My virus program showed no virus. This happened this week . . . do you know if Adobe 9 has problems with spyware?
  9. I have MSN.com has my home page. Up until recently when I typed in google.com in the address box I got google.com. Now I'm getting Ask.com . . . how did that happen? Ask.com is a poor search engine and I can't figure out how it took over.
  10. I cannot open links or attachments in e-mails with Microsoft Outlook. I click on them and nothing happens. I then go to close out and I get a message that says NOT RESPONDING. Any ideas?
  11. I haven't installed any new software. When I manually update SAS normally I get the updates . . . but when I do it through the "pop-up" it starts then hangs up and stops running. Is the "pop-up" update trying to update the entire SAS program or just the spyware updates? I'll try to uninstall then re-install to see if that helps.
  12. This has been occurring for a number of days . . . not just momentarily. And it has not been resolved in a "few moments" The download starts, goes through some installation, then hangs up.
  13. I keep getting a popup for Super Anti-Spyware asking to download updates. I click on it but it keeps locking up and I have to close it. Does anyone know about this and I can I resolve the issue? Thanks

    Firefox 3.0

Just a quick thanks to everyone for the great help I receive here. While I'm not a regular poster . . . I do check in every now and then to see what's good & what's bad with computers & software. Every time I have an issue/problem and ask for help I get solid and helpful assistance. Once again . . . thanks to all! TommyK

    Firefox 3.0

I just downloaded the new version and am having a problem with Firefox freezing up. I also don't like the "Awesome Bar" that brings up visited sites (privacy issue!) Is anybody having problems with 3.0 and can I go back to the prior version? Thanks
  17. I've uninstalled extensions/themes . . . I checked the run time and it is as suggested . . . I tried safe mode and that didn't help . . . I went to tools then error console and there are NUMEROUS errors there . . . I am at a lost on how to stop UNRESPONSIVE SCRIPT. Does it have anything to do with JAVA because when I try to send a comment in a comment box on a chat room I get a message at bottom with JAVA SCRIPT in it and I can't send the comment without REFRESHING then trying again. Any ideas?
  18. Yes . . . from Firefox. I tried the recommended fixes, but the "stop script" message still comes up and slows everything done until I click on it to continue. I'm at a loss for trying to resolve this.
  19. Ever since I "re-activated" Windows I've been getting an error message as a web site opens up: "Script on page may be busy or may have stopped responding. You can stop script now or continue to see if scipt will complete" What's up with this?
  20. Hi Guys! . . . Just got my Windows Re-Activated. Couldn't do it by internet . . . had to call them and they did re-activated it. So I guess I'm good to go! Thanks
  21. I've had Windows XP on my system for 2 years and it is working fine. I haven't done anything about "activating" it because I'm not sure just why I have to do so when it is working fine. So I'm hoping for some advice on this to see if I really need to "activate" it.
  22. I've been getting an Activate Windows message on a daily basis. I'm not quite sure what that means. Anyone know what that means?
  23. Just saw this on the site. I checked it out and it looks pretty good. Apparently much faster than Spybot. Anybody think this is worth having? Better than Spybot?
  24. The "old" AVG is still working on my system, even though they keep saying the "new" version is coming out or was suppose to replace the prior version. Any news on what's up with it?
  25. Obviously common sense should be used with e-mails. However, there are times when a brain cramp arrives or another household member is using the computer and opens an infected e-mail. How important is it to have an e-mail scanner? AVAST has it but AntiVir does not. Some helpful advice from a knowledgable person would be appreciated.
