  1. Okay, this time I tried to delete unwanted cookies (left column) manually one at a time and was asked if I wanted to close Chrome. I answered yes and proceeded to delete first one. I then restarted CCleaner and ran cleaner. The analysis showed that this time history and cookies were not skipped and 353 cookies were deleted along with 6 history files. Except when I look in the cookies I don't want column, they are still there!!!! I have a screenshot of results if you'd like to see it. edit: Have just gone through the whole process again and Voila! this time the cookies and history have gone and the cookies column is empty!!?? Should mention here that I did restart CCleaner and also rebooted my computer. I suppose I'll keep monitoring and see what happens. Thanks for help to forum mavens. Regards
  2. Thanks, yes I have 5 Chrome.exe processes showing. Is it safe to end process on these? According to the dialogue box my computer may become unstable. Regards
  3. Why are Chrome Internet History and Chrome Cookies marked as 'skipped' after a clean? This is a sudden recent happening, as I've been a user of CCeaner for years without a problem. I followed all of TwistedMetal's instructions for a workaround in a previous locked thread, but no luck. I have checked the boxes to allow CCleaner to remove them and am stumped. Thanks
  4. Thanks Hazelnut, Very helpful, all seems OK. Gramps
  5. Hi, I have been using CCleaner for a few years and run it at the end of every day. Mostly it removes between 65 and 80MBs per day with my settings. I have just upgraded to AVG2011 from AVG9 and it seems that since then the amount to be removed by CCleaner has dropped to maybe 3 or 4MBs! Is there some conflict here? I haven't altered my settings. I run Vista Home Premium. Regards
  6. Thanks to all for replying, I shall take all answers on board. I've learned not to do anything hasty, so will do as you suggest at least for a while. Regards
  7. Thanks for your answer and welcome TFITS, I have run the program and it worked fine. I shall run it a few more times before I delete Cleanup! I forgot to mention I also run, Spybot S&D, Regseeker (which I used once and am afraid to use in case I do harm), SpywareBlaster, HiJackThis, AVG, ZoneAlarm Firewall and AdAware SE. Do you see any conflict there? I want to get rid of Regseeker in case I do some damage. It seems to me I'm pretty much covered with the rest. Regards
  8. Hi, I've just downloaded CCleaner and have read FAQs and some problems and answers posted in this forum. Very helpful of the mods. I have been using Steven Gould's Cleanup! for a while and lately regardless of my choices it deletes wanted cookies. I really want to delete it completely. My query is; is CCleaner a superior product and will I have a similar problem using it? It seems to be a very user-friendly program, but I'm a bit nervous of trusting it implicitly. Can anyone reassure me and allay my concerns. Regards edit: Sorry I may have posted in the wrong place. Apologies.
