  1. I though other programs were better than standard Windows 10 defrag tool. So I have given a chance to Defraggler. My main drive is 1 TB WD10EZEX HDD. I don't have SSD right now. First of all, volume shadow copy and other settings like that, increase defrag time too much. Okay, I have disabled them and defrag time improved but it is still much slower than Windows 10 Home standard defrag tool. Probably it defrags larger files too. I have tried fast defrag options and slow defrag problem was gone. But HDD performance reduced drastically either way. No matter what settings I have tried, I couldn't recover my HDD performance. The only solution is using standart defrag tool of Windows OS. After Defraggler defrag --> Crystal mark calculated 90-100 MB sequential reading speed. After Windows defrag --> Crystal mark calculated >160 MB sequential reading speed. Another problem is, moving larger files to the slowest section of the HDD. At first it is a good idea but unfortunately Windows started writing all new large files to the slowest section. Games and programs are loading slowly right now. I always move larger files with Windows standard defrag tool as a result. MEH. (Defragging empty space etc. didn't work for me.) So, I have removed Defraggler and will not use any other defrag programs like this. Standard windows defrag is the best option because Microsoft knows best about their operating system, not third party developers right ?
  2. Okay. Thanks for help. I'll consider this in the future when I defrag my disk.
  3. Hello. I'm using WD Blue WD10EZEX HDD. Disk usage is around 145 GB and it is a system disk right now. I have moved some files to the slowest section with Defraggler which I use rarely. After that I'm having a problem right now. When I download something, HDD writes some of the new files to the its slowest sections. (end of the disk) I think HDD, Windows or something see that slowest parts are used and writes some files to there. So, I have defragged my disk with Defraggler without moving large files to slowest section for a solution. Today, Steam updated CS:GO and... my disk used its slowest section for some new files again. How can I solve this problem? I didn't have any problems like this before Defraggler afair. Thanks!
  4. Hi! I'm defragging my 1 TB HDD with Defraggler. It is slow. I tried these steps together at first for speed-up: Disabling volume shadow thing for NTFS. Disabling benchmark after defragging Excluding pagefile, hiberfil etc. files. Excluding moving big files to the end of drive All of these have improved defrag speed but it was still slow. Then today I tried something else: Closing system restore tool of Windows 10. Now it is much much faster. So here is the question: Is disabling system restore points of Windows 10 for defragging, right thing to do ?
