  1. Thanks to hazelnut for the info to fix the problem of my C: Drive System Restore checkpoints being deleted. At his suggestion, I am posting what first caused the problem and the fix. I uninstalled the Napster program that I never used. After the uninstall, it prompted me to restart. After the restart, a window displayed that said something to the effect that Windows had detected and installed "something" and that I should restart. I must admit I did not read that window with much attention, so I just restarted again. For whatever reason, I went to My Computer and there was a Local Disk (E:) that was never there before. The size of the partition was just over 31MB (not GB) and the contents had a Dell folder and some other files. My computer is a Dell Dimension 8200 with a C: drive size of 80GB. I posted a question on the Smart Computing magazine forum about this E: drive and one of the responses was that the uninstall of Napster may have "unlocked" this partition that may have been hidden for use by Dell Technical Support. In any case, the responder said not to worry about it. I then noticed the System Restore checkpoints for my C: drive were all missing except for the previous day. On each succeeding day, the only checkpoints saved were the previous day, even though I had the "slider" at 100%. The "fix" turned out to be disabling the System Restore monitoring of the E: drive (even though the slider for the E: drive monitoring was set to 100% also). For some reason, the 31MB size of the E: drive prevented the saving of the C: drive checkpoints beyond the previous day. I hope this info may be useful to someone else on your forum. And Thanks! again to hazelnut. Jim
  2. I guess if I scrolled down a little more I would have found the "fast reply" button. Now I really feel like a :dumb "bunny". Hazelnut, please let me know if you received my Thanks! post. Jim
  3. I have the latest version of CCleaner. I must have a box checked that is erasing my latest System Restore checkpoints. Any help on which "box" to uncheck to prevent this from happening? Thanks, Jim
