Data Recovered but the files are still not opening

I have recovered my data using recuva but still the files are not opening it says that they are corrupted . below message is for your details "excel cannot open the file because the file format or file extension is not valid verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches teh format of the file ." -
after recovering my data the files are not opening any help pleasei am using free download of recuva
