  2. It may be that you have intentionally or unintentionally selected this checkbox:
  3. This is likely to do with your Windows account settings. Try right-clicking the CCleaner installer and 'Run as Administrator'. You probably won't get the message again.
  4. Thanks, this is a known issue and will be fixed soon.
  5. Thanks for the report, we'll try to get this resolved.
  6. We believe this to be a false positive. Microsoft was incorrectly blocking the installer is no longer doing so. Currently everything is clean on VirusTotal. We have no evidence of any virus. Let us know if the problem persists, but it should have resolved itself already or will do very soon. I was unable to reproduce this Chrome block myself.

  8. We have something in the app that blocks use in trade-embargoed countries like North Korea or Syria. If the IP address Nord leases/purchased for its VPN service used to belong to an embargoed country, it's possible that the IP tables have not been updated by all geolocation services. E.g. Syria sells one of its IP addresses to an ISP. The ISP assigns a new location, but perhaps doesn't notify all the Geolocation services of this change. Nord leases or purchases the IP address from the ISP (or even via an intermediary like a DataCentre). Products and services that check country location vi
  9. This method is perfectly valid as well, and is what we recommend for more experienced CCleaner users. Thank you to nukecad for the steps above, to APMichael for the .ini method and to Andavari for the Firefox portable guide. And finaly, thank you to circcc for originally flagging this. My apologies that we didn't address this sooner. We're working on getting a fix out as soon as possible.
  10. Quick Update: While we work on getting out a fix, users can work around this issue by disabling a cleaning option in CCleaner: If using Custom Clean: in the Firefox section, disable the Internet Cache setting. This affects Firefox cleaning only. If using Health Check: after analyzing, in the 'Privacy' section, disable the Temporary Internet Files option before completing a clean. This affects cleaning of Firefox and other browsers.

  14. The bug with the installer screen not showing correctly is likely to do with some remote content not being retrieved. This could be down to a rule in your firewall, blocking some but not all communications. Please double-check to see if anything from CCleaner or our parent company, Avast, is being blocked.
  15. Hi all, I'd like to clarify some things. The UI framework technology in the installer is not the same as the app. As an aside, the main CCleaner installer should run correctly on Windows 7 and I see no indication of any widespread malfunction here. To be clear: users on Windows 7 do not need to use the Slim installer. Any specific cases where it doesn't run on Windows 7 are likely due to an edge case bug. The UI framework used for Health Check (and its forebears, Quick Clean/Easy Clean) is different to the rest of the application. It uses something called 'Sciter', which is essential

  18. This is a fair point, we will re-run the survey to capture any users whose opinions may have changed.
  19. Hi everyone, We surveyed over 1m people after they had completed their first Health Check. The vast majority of people who tried Health Ch
  20. Update: Engineers at Trend Micro are investigating this issue and I expect to hear from them when they've made some progress.
  21. Pro users do not need to use the Free version. They can simply disable automatic updates in the Updates menu and continue to use all other paid features on v5.64 while we investigate this. To do this: In a Pro-registered version of v5.65, disable Automatic Updates in the Updates menu Without uninstalling, install v5.64 over the top of v5.65 by downloading and running the v5.64 installer
  22. This should be fixed in v5.65, released 24th March: https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner/version-history
