  1. hello,

I'm using portableapps tool: https://portableapps.com/ and I've noticed that sometimes (maybe after an update? not sure..)

it creates am empty folder named "Documents" and inside it 3 empty folders named "Music", "Pictures" and "Videos",

I tried to add the folder documents in ccleaner with the option "delete files, subfolders and the folder itself" but

it doesn't select it, at least I can't see it in the results,

am I doing something wrong? if not, is there a workaround for this case?

    thanks

  2. hello,

I'm looking for a way to exclude files from a folder, but only from that folder, not subfolders:

    e.g. something like:

    Exclude1=FILE|C:\Extensions\*\_locales\|*.*|0|0|24

but this excludes everything, it doesn't delete C:\Extensions\*\_locales\test\test1.txt for example,

    can it be done?

also what's the "|0|0|24" in the end? could these flags help?

    thanks

    New entries:

CCleaner's built-in entry "Cookies" tries to clean up the LevelDB, but leaves many traces. The main LevelDB file *.log will be cleaned, but the clean-up process unfortunately creates new *.ldb files with all the previous data of the *.log file. The MANIFEST file also contains traces of visited websites.

A request: Could someone please test if this affects installed extensions? Thank you very much!

  4. I was deleting "User Data\*\Local Storage\leveldb" but just recently I've found out that
    it breaks my "
RSS Subscription Extension (by Google) 2.2.4" extension's settings and
I have to configure it again each time,

the problem is that there is a random file in there, like "000171.ldb",
which increases in size, 1,5mb currently :S

so what can we do piriform/ccleaner people??

The PortableApps version sometimes takes awhile before it's available. Also with Firefox suggesting to update that's why I set it to 'never check for updates...', because I'd imagine if allowed to update it would mess up the PortableApps version.

no, it doesn't,I updated mine some days ago without problems

Unfortunately deleting lang files can break some programs, i.e.; in some they may show a pop-up error dialog about missing files, and some others they won't run at all.

It's one of those things that if I'm about to delete a bunch of lang files in a program I ZIP them first, then delete them manually and see what happens. If all goes well I add them into my winapp2.ini file, but I never submit them on here because someone using a non-English lang version of a program may need those lang files.

you didn't understand, I'm keeping only English based files (even though it's not my mother language for me either),
but I get sick when I get an app (a portable one for example) that is only available in "international" version and
I don't have a choice than to install thousands of junk files from languages all over the world,
and later, when there's an update and I need to sync that app, I would have to wait for it to sync
all these completely useless thousands of files relying in random folders and difficult to find,
    well, this sucks, obviously..

other than that, I've had only one or two problems with chrome,
where there was one or two files that were needed for an extension to run,
even though that seemed like language files to me,
    other than that, no problems..

We've dabbled with this idea in the past ("dangerous entries" and "langfiles" inis both briefly existed at some point or another). ini files beyond winapp2.ini never got much traffic though, so I stopped maintaining them.

I would love lang files cleaning,

for example chrome "international" is filled with tons of irrelevant resource files, I added some paths myself in the ini, but I'm pretty sure there are others as well

  8. I think there's a bug in there:

I've set up the notification to notify me after 24hours without cleaning,

same as the automatic cleaning to run (every 24h),

so, despite the fact that automatic cleaning was run some moments ago,

the notification still goes off saying

"it's been a while since you last cleaned your device"

wrong! I did clean my device some minutes before!

    please fix
